TRAPPERS

Grades 3-6 Students will experience a day in the life of a trapper as they trade furs in the Hudson Bay Company Store, make bannock over an open fire, build a basic shelter and snowshoe in the Whitemud Nature Reserve.			RELATED INFO Program Registration More Winter Activities Other Programs

I. Welcome
	Introductions
	Explanation of day's schedule
	Washrooms, store gear

II. Divide into Groups for Station Activities
	Fire building
	Bannock cooking
	Shelter building
	Orienteering
	Nature awareness
Note: group may do some or all of these activities depending on the needs of the teacher and time allotted.

III. Trappers Game
	Fur trading discussion and explanation
	Play fur trading game

IV. Group Campfire
	Songs and campfire fun

V. Cleanup and Goodbye
